New Era Theatre

Summer Shows

New Era Theatre will present two original plays this summer!

There's Nothing I Can Do About It  is a romantic comedy written by Donna Holloway. It is a play that touches on the extremes of relationships, between a man and a woman, and how it can go wrong. The play is centered around Ezell Hudson, a self-titled playboy who meets his match - Valree Love. Valree sees herself as a woman of the world who would stop at nothing to live the life that she feels she deserves. In all of the chaos, Ezell ends up finding genuine love in his sister’s best friend Ranella. This play was inspired by the song “There’s Nothing I Can Do About It” by Mike James Kirkland & The Cessations.

Sunny and Blue is a play written by Donna Holloway that is loosely based on the life of Motown legend Tammi Terrell. The story is told through the memories of her friend and singing partner Marvin Gaye.
